Smøla is the biggest island in Møre og Romsdal, situated at the north-western border of the county towards Sør-Trøndelag. The island is flat with a highest point above sea-level close to 70m. All roads are well suited for biking. | | | |  | | The island has close to 2300 habitants and several exciting accommodation possibilities | | | |  | | Four excellent cycling routes are signposted and very accessible: “In Viking land”, “Over the moors”, “With wind in the sails”, and “The coastline road”. | | | |  | | By ferry and expressboat: Daily there are several expressboat departures and arrivals to and from Trondheim(3h) and Kristiansund(30min.) From the mainland there is a ferry every hour back and forth from Vinsternes in Aure (northbound) and Aukan in Tustna (southbound). | | | |  | | By plain: Kvernberget, Kristiansund, and Værnes, Trondheim. | | | |  | | By bus/train: Train to Trondheim, Oppdal or Åndalsnes, and then several daily buses to the expressboat departure points.
